Google Blogger Is F&%^c#*d Up Again And Thought For The Week

The morons at Blogger are being useless F’ups again

——

I tried to leave the following comment at Hermione’s Heart, on this post Whatever Gets the Votes.

——

Governments Pah! Who needs them. We have just celebrated a whole year without a government here in Belgium. It’s been brilliant, especially the stripping protests. Canada, just tell your politicians to go home and chill for a year. Every country should have an occasional break from these windbags.

——

I tried to register the comment with the “Name/URL” option several times and also using the Anonymous option, using both of these I was redirected to the Google ID log in page every time. So I went to a couple of other Blogger blogs and tried commenting on them as well, same result. I would like to ask you readers if any of you are having the same problem or is my paranoia about being targeted by Google Blogger justified?

——-

Sorry to Google Blogger bloggers but I cannot comment on your blogs

As I am so peeved with those smegheads from Google that I refuse to use my Google ID to comment, I am afraid that I am unable to comment on your blogs until this situation is resolved.

Thought For The Week

——

This weeks TFTD may seem a little vanilla in flavour but it’s spankoness comes from it’s sources. And anyway, for vanillas or kinksters I just think that it is damn fine advice.

——

If you no longer like what you are doing then stop doing it

Or change the way that you are doing it and see if that works

[sources – Lucy McLean and the second line is an add on from me]

  1. It’s not just you. My ability to leave comments on Blogger blogs has been hit or miss for months.

  2. Nice to see your new home! My stats on Blogger stopped working some weeks ago…the forum advice seems to be “It’s free so stop complaining”. I have a feeling the only way to get them back would be to delete the blog and start again.
Not had problems leaving comments anytime…yep, you and Pink are on the black list: WordPress troublemakers and renegades πŸ˜‰

    • Try getting an account at Statcounter.com Wordsmith. It is also free but works well. It is not perfect and does have it’s off days but in over three years of using it I can count those bad days without running out of fingers on one hand and my overall long term stats have never been lost.

  3. I tried to tell you about this problem on another blog, I think it was Pixies or Adeles, about a year ago when you responded to my comment saying something like “Hi Tigerbutt, good to see you commenting again”. Unless you are willing to accept cookies or sign in with “Google” you can’t comment on “blogger” or even lurk on “blogspot”. That is why you may have noticed no comments from me for quite awhile. Oh well. Their loss.

    • Sorry about that but I had not seen you for a while and missed your presence after Niki Flynn had closed down her blog.

I think I have found a way around this sporadic Google Blogger censorship. By using the open id facility but but you have to have an account with and be logged into one of the participating organizations (WordPress, LiveJournal, etc).

  4. I’m sorry you are having so many problems with Blogger, but thank you for the comment. We seem to have a Federal election every year. Maybe they should take some time off to reflect. No taxes to be collected during that time, of course.

    Hugs,
    Hermione

    • Strange that they still collect the taxes here, even without a real government πŸ™‚ It looks like I might not be alone with the blogger comment problem. That might explain at least a few of the lurkers.
