A Bit Bare Bones I’m Afraid, Due To Technical Difficulties

My Mouse Is Dying

——

——

I’m awfully sorry not to have a real post for you today but my computer laser mouse has decided to go all funny. It takes some convincing to get the pointy thing, on the screen, to go where I want it and then most times it decides to shoot off to the edge of the screen (without moving the mouse) before I can click on anything. As a consequence every little computer task is taking ages to perform. It is impossible for me to get to a shop for a new mouse until the weekend. I will try to do the Thought For The Week on Friday but if the mouse totally dies I will not be able to post until Saturday.

  1. A while back – my mouse acted up too.. then it just died. So I ran out and bought a new one (btw – I hadn’t bought the original one – gift)

When I got home I noticed it said it needed batteries….. I went and looked and you guessed it… the old one just needed new batteries – talk about a DUH moment …………

Just thought I would share my mouse story with you……..

    • Sounds like the kind of thing that I do Morningstar. Mine is a USB mouse (yes I’m that old fashioned), looking at the state of it, I think that it is just worn out.

  2. We have a plugin laser mouse that is so much better than the ond roller ball type.

technical difficulties here, too. Blogger is down all over the world. Blogs are read only. No comments, no posting. Sigh!

    • That’s the first that I had heard about that Hermione. I think blogger might be liable to attack. They do have a way of annoying large sections of the worlds internet users, some of whom might be a bit more virus savvy and vindictive than I am.

  3. Try cleaning the laser, often this is a sign of a whisker of grit or hair on the lens.

    • I’ve had that happen before Fred and tried cleaning it this time. There was a bit of wobble in the laser, so I think that it has come loose. Mice are pretty cheap so it is not worth trying to repair it. Time for a new one.
