Covid 19 Belgium More Rules Relaxed
A few rules have been relaxed since I last posted on the restrictions in Belgium. One fun one was that the international borders where opened without warning. Especially without warning the French and Dutch authorities, who suddenly found themselves turning back Belgian people who wanted to visit their countries to go shopping.
But the numbers are good, with low amounts of new infections and the number of people in hospital falling rapidly. As of the 8th of June we have been granted new freedoms. I won’t list them all but just the main ones.
PUUUUB!!!
Cafes and restaurants are now allowed to open. Table service only, waiting staff must wear masks and a closing time of 1 am at the latest has been introduced. But you can now go for a beer 🙂 Night shops are also allowed to open until 1 am.
Sport
Non contact sporting events, professional or amateur, indoor or outdoor, with a maximum of 20 participants can now take place but without a supporting audience.
Fitness centres and gyms
Fitness centres and gyms may now reopen with social distancing rules in place. Swimming pools are still to remain closed.
Religious services
Religious services with up to 100 participants may take place with appropriate social distancing.
Trips out

Day trips and even staying away for a few nights are allowed within the borders of Belgium. I don’t know if this means campsites are opening but I hope so.
Picnicking ETC
Picnicking, sunbathing and other activities that involve staying still in a public place, that until now have been strictly banned are now allowed. Social distancing rules apply.

And those are the main items of the new relaxation of restrictions in Belgium as far as I know them.
