This might be a little old hat to some of you but I am still catching up on some stuff I could not watch whilst I was having problems with my eye and it’s intolerance to screens. But it is such a strong scene that even if you have seen it before, it is still worth watching again.
Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) Receives A Belting In The Handmaid’s Tale
I did read a newspaper article that said the belting was real but Ms Strahovski was wearing protective biker’s gear under her dress. That interested me as in the next clip she takes a look at the marks that could not be real but look like the marks of someone who is used to receiving corporal punishment regularly would get from a belting. So I have to take my hat off to the butt make up artist of this production.
