Got Me A New Electric Magic Box

Some of you might have noticed that I have been MIA for a few days. This is because, on Friday, my computer tried to install a new download and terminally crashed. It could not be revived. I now have a new computer, although it did not come with the assistant, shown in the picture above. Hint, hint, marketing department of Hewlett Packard. But when the old magic box bit the dust, I lost all my files full of images, links to GIFs and videos and a whole host of other stuff. Basically I am starting from scratch. So the posts around here might be a bit rough and ready for the next few weeks.

I hope that you will understand that I have to build up stocks of stuff to help with posting, before normal service is resumed

  1. Ugh it’s a total pain when you lose files!!! I thought I was clever and had an external hard drive and I backed up regularly.
Who knew external hard drives can crash and you can lose everything:(
My daughter just introduced me to ‘one drive’ Microsoft and I have now backed up to it
Glad to see you back blogging

    • I was thinking about getting an external hard drive morningstar, but now that you say that, I don’t know. I turn one drive and any other cloud services off, when I can. The carbon footprint of cloud services are huge. Bigger than that of international air traffic, even before the pandemic. I can see their uses, but are they worth the cost?

  3. Too bad about the crash and file loss. When mine went wonky, I at least was able to transfer my stuff to a new laptop. However, my “collection” is always safely ensconced in a removable zip/plug in thingy. Something to consider.

And…..considering what you might have lost, I’m pretty pleased by the image you found. LOL. Solid seat on that young lady!

  5. Sorry to hear about your computer. Had the same thing8 months ago, bought a new one, then got a virus on it. Not convinced it is gone! (only doing anything not involving identity or financial on it. Pain in the butt, and not from a spanking

    • First thing I did, Red, was go to my McAfee account and get my plan downloaded onto the new magic box. I am so paranoid about computer security, that I won’t even do banking or anything like that over Wi-Fi. It all has to go through a cable. I hope that your virus is gone
