The Gunpowder Treason and Plot
Those of you hailing from the UK know what I am talking about and the rest of the world is going WHAT? To explain, on the 5th of November 1605, a group of English, Catholic terrorists attempted to blow up the King, Parliament and most of the authority figures of the English system of government, of that time. Over the centuries, this event has evolved into a fun celebration, involving burning an effigy of Guy Fawkes, in a bonfire whilst enjoying tasty treats and fireworks.
