THURSDAY’S ANIMATED THRASHER – A STRANGE CHRISTMAS RECIPE – AND THINGS COULD BE WORSE

And the grand finale

A Rare Christmas Music Recipe Mix

And Things Are Better Than Expected

I was not planning to do a Coronavirus, Belgium update before Christmas, but things are looking relatively good here and it is a change from the usual misery. The new restrictions, introduced about three weeks ago, seem to be working and the reproduction rate of the virus has fallen to an impressive 0.76. All the other bad numbers seem to be on the decline too. For more details, take a look at the following link.

COVID-19 FIGURES FOR BELGIUM ON THE 22 OF DECEMBER 2021

Omicron

Omicron is now accounting for just over a quarter of new infections, in Belgium. It looks like it will become dominant over the Delta variant, but it is not yet causing a rise in the overall figures. More about that in the following link.

New Measures

The consultative committee met on Wednesday 22nd of December and further restrictions are to be introduced, to restrain the spread of the virus by the more infectious Omicron version. Hopefully these will be enough to continue the downward trend of the spread of the virus and avoid the need to go back into a full lockdown. Link below for new restrictions.

NEW CORONAVIRUS RESTRICTIONS FOR BELGIUM FROM THE 26TH OF DECEMBER 2021

Personally

I am due for my booster on the 29th of December and will be getting Moderna this time, the first two were Pfizer. A bit of good news has improved my mood, especially as I look at the surrounding nations and realize that just enough was done here just in time. I hope that other lands can get to the same place as us, in a short time.

It is not the Christmas miracle that you see in the movies, but it is better than I had feared and deserves a quote from the Christmas movie that I hate the most.

THE SUNDAY SWISHING – AND ON CHRISTMAS

God, Spank Ye Merry Gentleman

Christmas – I’m Not Feeling It

This is the first Christmassy post that I have made this year, apart from the December calendar and that is because I just don’t seem to be able to get into the spirit of the season. It looked like I was going to get my annual trip to the UK this year, to see my family and then all the plans went Omicron and travel restrictions to and from the UK look too ify to risk. So it is a second Christmas alone in Belgium. Not to put a downer on anyone else, this blog will start to have some Christmassy stuff on it. In the spirit of fake it until you make it. On the upside, it looks as though we might have turned a corner, with the numbers here, unless it is just a downward blip. Latest figures in the link

The Current Situation With COVID-19 In Belgium

Due to time availability issues, I am writing this post on Sunday 28th of November, so be aware that some of the following information might be slightly out of date, as you get to see it

Worryingly, the Omicron variant of the virus has made it to Belgium already. Only one confirmed case so far, but it was found in someone who had travelled from Egypt and not Southern Africa. This makes it more worrying. European Authorities have issued information about this and drug companies are already looking into this variant, as can be seen in the following two links

The situation in Belgium now

Infection rates are at the highest that they have ever been at, over 15000 per day on average, but thankfully death rates are not in the hundreds, as they were during previous waves of infection and are about 37 per day, as I write this. You can see more about the figures in the following link

THE SUNDAY SWISHING – AND OMG NOT AGAIN

I Think The Postman Has Arrived

Coronavirus Update Belgium

As you might have guessed from the post title, things are not good here. From just around a thousand infections a day, just a few weeks ago and a much improved situation, we have now over 10000 new infections a day. Things haven’t been this bad since the second wave. This is now our fourth wave. Death rates seem to be lower, I presume, as a result of the successful vaccine rollout. But all the other numbers are bad and seem to still be getting worse. This seems to be the case from Belgium, Germany and Austria across the whole of the east of the EU. As can be seen from the latest, colour coded, infections map from the European authorities

The rest of this post will be bullet point style titles, followed by links for those that wish to see more information

The consultative committee, that advises the national Government, will meet again on the 19th of November. By which time we will almost certainly have reached the triggering number of more than 500 patients in ICU beds because of Covid-19. I suspect, at least a partial, if not total lockdown will be introduced after that. Unless someone has a Christmas miracle they would like to throw our way

BLOG CALENDAR – THE NOVEMBER PAGE – AND PROPOSED NEW REGULATIONS FOR SEX WORKERS IN BELGIUM

The Blog Calendar For November

In the Northern Hemisphere, the cold autumn winds are bringing the chill with them. What better source of heat, to warm your hands by, could there be than a pair of boy butts, glowing from their recent harsh caning. And so we have that for the coming month’s calendar

Proposed New Regulations For Sex Workers In Belgium

Why do I care about this?

Because professional Disciplinarians and Dommes, even if they do not offer sexual services, are generally regarded in this category of employment. Also, although I personally do not take advantage of sexual services, some professionals, whose attentions I employ, do also offer extra services that put them firmly in this category of this type of employment

The situation at the moment

At this time it is legal, for both a sex worker and a client to enter into a financial exchange for services. But this regulation also includes laws aimed at discouraging people trafficking and pimping, but these laws are too vague and can be applied to any third party “profiting” from the income of a sex worker. For example, a baker who sells bread to someone who made the money to buy the bread from offering sexual services. The situation with the pandemic also lead to many sex workers being unable to earn a living and without the right to support from the government that other categories of workers enjoyed. This has led to protests

The new proposals

It is planned to have legislation based on the New Zealand laws concerning this issue. With clearer definitions of bad third parties (people traffickers and pimps), who should be prosecuted for their practices. This should leave innocent third parties, like bakers, car sales agents, property owners who rent out property and a whole host of other people free from the fear of prosecution under the law, for excepting money from a sex worker for their goods or services
